DHOKLA
 
" Light and Fluffy Steamed Cubes of Bengal Gramflour ,
Tempered with Grated Coconut and Mustard Seeds."
Serves-4
 
INGREDIENTS
350 gms- Bengal Gramflour ( Hindi Term Besan )
1 Tcup- Curd
1 ½ Tbsp- Chopped Green Chilli
1 ½ Tbsp- Chopped Ginger
½ Tsp- Turmeric Powder
1 Tsp- Mustard Seeds
1 Tsp- Soda-Bicarbonate
2 Tbsp- Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves
¾ Tcup- Freshly Grated Coconut
1 No- Lemon
2 Tbsp- Oil
Salt- To Taste
 
METHOD
1. Take Bengal Gramflour in a Bowl and to it Add Curd and Warm Water and Mix Well to a Thick Batter. Add Salt and Cover and Leave for 4 Hours.
2. Make a Paste of Ginger and Green Chillies and then Add this Paste to the Batter along with Turmeric Powder.
3. In a Bowl Mix Together 1 Tsp Soda-Bicarbonate,1 Tsp Oil and Juice of 1 Lemon and then Add this to the Curd and Bengal Gramflour Mixture.
4. Pour the Batter into a Greased Dhokla Mould and Steam in a Steamer for 15 Minutes.
5. Cool and then Cut into Squares and Arrange on a Serving Plate.
6. Temper with Oil and Mustard Seeds.
7. Garnish Well with Chopped Coriander Leaves and Grated Coconut and Serve Hot with Chutney of your Choice.
